Cast Bios

Luis Astudillo

Luis Astudillo is the Head of the World Language Department at Classical High School.
He received a Best Actor award from The Providence Phoenix for his performance in “The Swan” for Alias Stage. He first worked as an actor with 2nd Story more than 25 years ago. Most recent 2nd Story roles were in “A Flea in her Ear” and “The Front Page”. On television, Luis played Edgar Alonzo in Brotherhood (Season 2)-Showtime.

Ron Cesario

Ron Cesario (Costume Designer) has designed over 80 productions in 13 years as 2nd Story’s Resident Costume Designer.  Ron currently manages the Brown University Costume Shop.  He spent 14 years at Trinity Rep, the last 10 as Costume Director.  Other credits include designs for the Helen Hayes Performing Arts Center, Cape Cod Playhouse, Theater IV Virginia, Perishable Theater, Trinity Rep Conservatory, Rhode Island College and Brown/Trinity Playwrights Rep. He was Costume Designer for Boozical: The Musical and was an original cast member. He designs stagewear for The Khris Francis Show and gowns for the fabulous Miss Ladiva Jonz.  Ron has collaborated with Kym Moore on several Brown TAPS department shows including: Pippin, The Cook, Gross Indecency: The Three Trials of Oscar Wilde and Hype Hero; as well as her off-Broadway production of Jomama Jones Radiate.

Jillian Eddy

Jillian holds her BFA in Theatre from the University of Rhode Island, concentrating in theatre design technology. She is 2nd Story’s resident production artist, filling her days with painting, building, hanging, and generally anything else required to get a production up and running – a Jill of all trades, you might say. Jillian has worked regionally with Wilbury Theatre Co., The Barker Playhouse, and the University of Rhode Island.

Joanne Fayan

Joanne Fayan is an actor, educator, and director. She has previously performed at 2nd Story Theatre in Love, Loss and What I Wore, Other Desert Cities, August: Osage County, and The Exonerated. She is the Arts Department Head and theatre instructor at St. Andrew’s School (Barrington). She has appeared in various theaters in Rhode Island, South Carolina, Massachusetts, New York, and Washington, DC. She is the former Associate Artistic Director for All Childrens Theatre (Providence).

Lara Hakeem Lara Hakeem

Lara Hakeem has an equal passion for acting and directing in the theater, which she has been doing consistently for three decades. She has worked summer stock and national tours, most recently directing with Epic Theatre Company. Lara’s 2nd Story roles include Bette in the Marriage of Bette and Boo, Sylvia and Sylvia, Rita in Prelude to a Kiss and Vanda in Venus in Fur. When offstage, Lara distributes Young Living oils and lifestyle guides, along with personal fitness training. Lara is CEO of Perfectives, a marketing and management company specializing in project leadership, marketing, sales, research intercepts, moderating, and space planning and design.

Michael McAdam

Michael McAdam is an actor hailing from Providence RI and has enjoyed a diverse and varied career on stage in the New England area. He had the extreme pleasure of appearing as Angela Arden in Die, Mommie, Die!, Madame Aigreville in The Ladies Man, and Dr. Yahooda in Hysteria at 2nd Story Theatre. Michael can be seen this summer as his alter ego Payton St. James in Illusions at The Crown and Anchor in Provincetown, Massachusetts.

Max Ponticelli

Max Ponticelli serves as 2nd Story Theatre’s Producing Director. He holds a BFA in Dramatic Arts from URI and has been on staff since 2009. He is a part-time faculty member at Clark University and occasionally works regionally with other theatre groups (Bridgewater State University, Trinity, Wilbury).

Selected recent work: Breakfast at Tiffany’s, Frankie & Johnny in the Clair de Lune, Seascape, Tuesdays with Morrie, The Ladies Man, Love, Loss & What I Wore (Production Design); Crimes of the Heart, Murder at the Howard Johnson’s (Scenic Design); Prelude to a Kiss, The Trip to Bountiful (Lighting Design).

Max can be found all around 2nd Story, helping to run the theatre and organization in whatever way is needed. He likes to say, however, if he’s doing his job correctly, you’ll never notice he was there.

Allyson Schiller

Allyson Schiller graduated from the University of Rhode Island in 2017 with a BFA in Theatre, concentrating in Stage Management and a BA in Public Relations. She uses these combined skills as 2nd Story’s Communications Manager. You will find her managing the Box Office and dealing with all-around audience relations, on top of stage managing 2nd Story’s upcoming productions. She has worked for Opera Saratoga, Wingspan Arts Conservatory, Brown/Trinity MFA program and University of Rhode Island Theatre.

Rachel Tondreault

Rachel Tondreault is thrilled to be involved with her first production at 2nd Story Theatre. Rachel is a Rhode Island and Boston based actress, most recently: 1st Witch & Others in Bay Colony Shakespeare’s tour of Macbeth; Lulu in Cape Cod Repertory’s The Adventures of Lulu’s Lemonade Stand; and regularly performing with C.O.A.A.S.T., a community outreach non-profit that uses theatre as a platform to discuss addiction and erase stigma. When Rachel is not pursuing theatre, she spends her time teaching and practicing Vinyasa Yoga and studying the Israeli martial art Krav Maga.
