You may have seen the phrase ShrinkRap pop up on our website lately.
Let me take a moment to explain it to you.
ShrinkRap is an informal post-show discussion with me and our resident “shrink”, Dr. Rendueles Villalba. Ren has been involved with 2nd Story for years, usually onstage in plays like The Marriage of Bette and Boo, School for Wives, and Death of a Salesman, among many others.
I love sharing the stage with him whether it’s in a play or in our casual ShrinkRap exchanges.
The insight he provides is invaluable. And his un-precious approach is a perfect compliment to mine.
Here’s his brief bio, by the way.Rendueles Villalba, MD is a staff psychiatrist and chief of the Integrated Therapies Program at Butler Hospital. He is also a Clinical Associate Professor of Psychiatry and Human Behavior at Brown University. He is co-founder of Contemporary Therapeutics, a group private practice interested in the interface of Psychiatry and the Humanities.
His essay on Freud’s Last Session is posted on our website blog along with Dr. Eileen Warburton’s Humanities essay.
Check both out online before you come, or pick them up in our lobby after the play.
The Thursday ShrinkRap dates can be found on our website too. If you have any questions, feel free to contact our box office.
